Heljan Class 47 Light Guides (oo)

I have a Heljan Class 47 where the light guides have disintegrated. I have purchased an Express Models lighting kit but this still requires the use of the ends of the light guides. Has anyone any ideas on a replacement? I was thinking of a piece of clear plastic rod but it needs to be about 1mm - not sure where to source these from. Howes do not stock them as a spare part so I need to come up with an alternative.

Any ideas?

Flexible light guides can be found on Ebay or DCC Supplies in differing diameters.

See here. http://www.dccsupplies.com/item-p-100037/1mm-fibre-light-guide-50cm.htm

I have no connection with them other than an ocasional visit to their website.

The other option is the Pound shop where those lamps with multiple strands of light guide can be bought cheaply.

Heat the end of the guide with a soldering iron to put a smooth finish on it and the light can be seen better.

Thanks Andy, looks just what I need to sort the lights out.
