doctor quinn
It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Ian Trivett passed away peacefully on the evening of 4th February 2017 following a battle with pneumonia. Many of us knew him through his activities at the Nottingham Model Railway Society where he held the post of Exhibition Manager for many years. A great character, he will be greatly missed by us all. BrushVeteran
That's a very sad piece of news. Although I'd only know Ian for about the last 15 years and only saw him about twice a year he always had time for a chat and would always finish up with his love of Nottingham City Transport. When I came up and did the show with Howes he always looked after us well in the Westminster. Sincere condolences from Martyn and I. Nottingham won't be the same without him. RANGERS
Sad to hear that. Ian stamped his mark on the Nottingham show during his period in charge and it is a fitting legacy to his efforts that it is viewed as one of the premier regional shows. RIP Ian

Andy Y
I was very sorry to hear this news today, it was evident that Ian's departure is significant to several people of standing in the hobby. On a personal note I thank Ian and the club committee for contributing support to RMweb in return for show publicity in the days we ran on a shoestring. That kindness will not be forgotten.Ian also invited us to attend the show to publicise RMweb at some very enjoyable events.RIP

RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted February 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 20, 2017 Our thoughts will be with Ian's family and the Nottm MRS throughout our show on the 4th & 5th March Personally I had the pleasure of exhibiting Summat Colliery under Ian's tenure as Exhibition Manager very early on in my time as a model railway exhibitor. Border Counties
We have lost a close friend who would come across to Norfolk to recharge his batteries after driving buses with Nottingham city council. I went to see Ian in December and we were plotting and planning a West Highland project- great fun. He already had the K1's ready, waiting to be renumbered as Fort William engines. We still had many long conversations and put the world to right until the end. Sadly missed. Ian and Amy Futers
298
Hi Everyone, Ian's funeral will be at Wilford Hill Crematorium, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7FE at 11.20 on 8th March 2017. Best regards Nick If anyone can't make it, can they send their Fridge instead....? (Sorry, but at times like this when you reflect on someone's life, there are things you will never forget and for me one of them was Ian being absolutely tickled by the concept of an award winner not being able to collect their trophy at the N(B)MRS' exhibition Saturday evening social event, and him having to present the trophy to their fridge instead.... I can't remember though if this was done the following year).
