RMweb Premium Finsbury Posted February 19, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 19, 2017 I'm new to this, I'll admit (OV03 thirty odd years ago notwithstanding), so bear with me. I went for a trundle on the old jalopy motorbike and found myself here at JT's. First impression was the space, or lack of it; it's small, but in a cosy way. Old time. Venerable. A lovely greeting from herself and Ian who were happy to let me browse unpressured, with a most amiable line of chitchat. A nice place to be. Plenty of advice was given to this novice, freely and without regard to securing a sale. Impartial. Having decided upon a 2nd hand dcc fitted Flying Scotsman in OO, they insisted on unboxing her and giving a demonstration run; a lovely touch. Then there is Al. He is the sparky guru. His workstation is on the end of the shop counter. I like a shop that is happy to 'front up'. Many motorcycle repair shops could take heed. A few motorcars to go with the eventual diorama, and I leave happy. A late o'clock telephone call to secure a class 25 has me positively glowing about this shop. It's over an hour away from me, but it was worth it, no doubt. The only downside I could fathom was the apparent dearth of tea in south London. bigherb
The only downside I could fathom was the apparent dearth of tea in south London. There is a cafe just the other side of the bridge and a few more further up Mitcham road towards the Broadway.
