Popular Post KNP
Here are a few pictures I took last week of the autocoach with the passengers added, no driver as he was drying but he has now been added. Again a bit of 'ghosting' to the bridge handrail but this was because the lens was only 50mm away with the camera set on macro so I'm wondering if post focus struggles close up on thin things. Clear view of coach and passengers, very pleased with the Shawplan glazing - cleaned it up with a very small amount of ordinary window cleaner fluid on a cotton bud. Story time - those three little birds flying over the coach towards the viewer are hand drawn and when I was working in the architectural office of Slough Corporation on presentation drawings my 'unofficial' signature was three birds flying somewhere over the building. So I have carried this on here.....40 years later....!!!! Now to get the loco crew fitted. Edited March 9 by KNP
Andrew P
That's weird Kevin, I do 3 Birds on most of my Landscapes, or 5 if it's a bigger picture, as a sort of signature, hahha. Don't know what happened to these 2 last time? hahah. Edited August 21, 2017 by Andrew P

Popular Post KNP
Well after much fanfare I would like to introduce the six crew members for my entire steam fleet. All accessories fitted and 4550 and 4612 have etched brass cab numbers - which I must agree with Rob do look tons better than the transfer. So, for a change, an area of the coal yard was cleared for the picture taking process. By far the easiest to fit was the Pannier as the bunker just unscrews and removes giving easy access to the cab. Modelu figures are superb and the poses brilliant. The only thing I would point out is that as they are based on actual people there sizes vary! Also, and I know this may sound strange, they give some scale to the model and an idea of how large a steam loco actually is. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted August 22, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 22, 2017 (edited) Hi Kevin, Please can you tell us which Modelu figures are in each cab? As you say, they fit perfectly. Thanks Stu Edited August 22, 2017 by Stubby47
KNP
Hi Kevin, Please can you tell us which Modelu figures are in each cab? As you say, they fit perfectly. Thanks Stu Will do. I did post on an earlier one (800) showing the figures I got, but to be honest I just tried out each one until I got the look I was after. So I'll go through them and work out which went where this afternoon when the grandchildren have gone - child minding today!
RMweb Gold Limpley Stoker Posted August 22, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 22, 2017 Well after much fanfare I would like to introduce the six crew members for my entire steam fleet The crews look so well matched to their machinery! Have they all joined ASLEF yet ? For the benefit if those of us at the back of the class could you reveal how you get your gentle diffuse lighting - it is so effective. Thanks I must agree I didn't realise how much they would improve the loco's, the only thing I wished I had done is to get one of the crew leaning out the cab looking the other way as you can get the figures handed.

KNP
Right That's lucky as it's the side I put them on!!!!!!...... which meant I had to use Left hand ones for the regulator arm..... all very confusing for a simple chap like me? Didn't arf have to double check that one myself as imagine the comments if the driver was standing on the wrong side by those in the know..... I knew it but I still checked nevertheless..... KNP
Just caught the 10.25 auto train leaving for Little Middle. Camera lens actually sitting in amongst the trees by the creamery so focus range in places zero... Tried the camera on a new setting called intelligent auto plus mode whilst still taking the pictures in post focus mode. When using post focus I was finding the resulting pictures had a darker exposure so I have been having to adjust brightness/contrast in Affinity but not this one..... Popular Post KNP
I forgot one crew member! He didn't arf moan when he realised I forgot to take a picture of him in his autocoach. So to placate him here is the seventh member of the Modelu figures sitting driving the auto train into Encombe Town Station. Hopefully he'll now speak to me again!
