Evergreen T-section

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if Evergreen T-section is available anywhere in the UK, and if not, why not?

The Evergreen website lists several sizes of T-section:

https://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/Shapes.htm

But when I look at the websites of UK model shops that stock Evergreen, T-section doesn't seem to be listed for some reason. Is there perhaps a wholesale importer who doesn't bring in the whole range?

I am particularly interested in #761 0.035" and #762 0.056" for girders for an N gauge footbridge.

These are now listed by J Perkins their distributor for the UK and expected next month, so in theory the retailers should have them by May!

Hi Mark,

That's really useful to know. I couldn't see the range listed on the J Perkins website, so I assume it's in the trade-only log-in section.

I wonder why they weren't available here before - or are they perhaps a new part of the Evergreen range altogether, even in the USA?

Whatever, it should be just what I need when it becomes available!

Thanks again,

Douglas

In the trade Evergreen suffers from being very pricey in the UK, as it is imported, which means price fluctuations all the time etc. It's a very niche market unfortunately. The shop mentioned before is the only supplier I know of apart from the plastruct range

The 4D shop on line does T section from 1.5mm up to 9 mm, but of course difficult to compare to Evergreen's offerings. 4D are one of the very few specialist shops that have stocks of sections, apart from the racks of Evergreen in shops, which frankly rarely seem re-stocked, perhaps due to low sales.

Eileen's Emporium (no connection) has much of the Evergreen range but not the T or Z sections - at least not yet. Also the Plastruct range including T and .

Alas the Plastuct range of section is not as fine as the version produced by Evergreen and one of the other German varieties is fine not so good at accepting Liquid Poly plusis a bit too deep in section and only comes in metre lengths!

P & H Models used to be great for getting hold of the more elusive evergreen stock (evergreen 761?) but after changing hands I don't know what's going on with them?

The website  is constantly "under maintenance".

Anybody used these?

Might be worth checking out Ebay seller passion-132 (based in Belgium) who has various sizes of Evergreen T-section available including the apparently elusive 761.

I ordered two packs of 4 off 761 for £7.69 in total plus postage of £3.57 (Euro converted)  last Wednesday and they were through the letter box this morning.

No connection other than as a very satisfied customer
