Nearholmer
Yes, I started a thread there last week called, IIRC, 'Hornby Dublo > Wrenn> Dapol Wagons' which ended-up touching on this question. K
Fat Controller
The 10' one would serve for most, apart from the cattle wagon, which would use the 11' one. HD didn't do any wagons shorter than 17'6" over headstock, so the 9' one wouldn't be of real use.
DCB
I thought there was a nasty short derailment prone presflo hopper thing or was it Wrenn only? We have 4 or 5 complete ones and I try to keep them off the layout as their short wheelbase makes then crab when being propelled. I also have a chassis partly stripped somewhere. The Dublo version of the PRESFLO (and their PRESTWIN) used their standard 10' wheelbase underframe, so it runs as well (or as badly) as anything else. Wrenn produced it as an open hopper by leaving the roof off.
BernardTPM
Actually it does have it's own custom chassis. Still a 10ft w.b. but shorter over buffers with correct features like end steps, heavy duty axleguards with roller bearings, short brake levers, etc. as can be seen in this photo. Il Grifone
One lives and learns! That's not something I'd ever noticed! And I do have both versions too.
