These photos are of the recently introduced ADB975276 Bachmann Catalogue no. 39-529. In my student days we went for a local drive over to Stevenage and found this van in a siding. I suspect that it was on delivery from being modified to this new use for the Southern Region. http://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/srcctdepartmental/eb075975

I have not fitted the brake linkages and vacuum pipe.

Later in life the van retained the same writing and livery and also a TOPS code of QPV. http://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/srcctdepartmental/ec64bd7b

I should link this to the PMV thread that I started.

I have to ask, as I am not sure if it is my monitor, or the photos, but what colour is it?

Olive Green, or Black

Regards

Ian

It is a very good olive green but very matt, unlike the prototype when new which, as normal, was in a high gloss. A very elusive colour to photograph.

At http://departmentals.com/photo/083523 the photo of is of it later in life when it is in internal use and turned to the pale purple so commonly seen on the SR; fortunately it is recorded as being conserved http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=2635

Paul

PS nothing to do with PMV, its an Ex CCT .

Sorry, Paul,

My rolling stock recognition certificate is well out of date, and doesn't cover half the classes that yours does.

In fact, I think that it is still a provisional one.

But thank you for the additional info.

Regards

Ian
