classy52
Damn I love my DRS loco's but only from 2012 onwards thus isn't within my era, wished they had done a 37 with the new swooshy compass livery such as 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes'...now that would have been something but hey I'm just being selfish

Ive just done one in compass. 423 requires a nose end change and placement of an extra light as its different to other 37/4s with wipac lights and front end plated. This isnt done yet by Bachmann. Yes but this another reason why it would be fantastic, Bachmann can add another set of tooling to the 37 and would be a massive hit not just for 37423 but other DRS Class 37 loco's with the same arrangement. My ignorance of loco tooling tells me Bachmann could do this in a heartbeat and at low cost against the massive returns they would get with a revised 37, again I stress my ignorance tells me the truth... My ignorance of loco tooling tells me Bachmann could do this in a heartbeat and at low cost against the massive returns they would get with a revised 37, again I stress my ignorance tells me the truth... It would be easier for it to become a DRS no heat 37, as then you could have the WIPAC and plated front, with the milti-socket connection. The reason why 423 wont be done as it also has ETH and the rest of them with this front don't. 423 has however, had more than one livery and thus could be chosen. Its had DRS compass, DRS swoosh livery (if you can call it that) like the class 68, and now plain DRS livery like the class 66. If Bachmann think theres enough demand then it could be done, but the second livery was very short lived. Personally, I think its more likely that they would do a DRS no heat 37, more like 37218 or 37612. Other ones without the plated headcode box could be done, alternatively R3spray do the conversion for the model as well, which is how I did my 423, and then added the ETH. It will feature in my workbench thread at some point. Meanwhile 37216 does look good in this Limited Edition, so hope it sells well.

The Black Hat
It is a very nicely done version of 37423. Might be a bit chilly for the punters tho....

Hi William, Just Ltd editions in this livery on the 37 from Bachmann. 038 for Cheltenham and the other pair from Rail Express and now this from Kernow. Compass livery has been on 37405, 37402 originally planned as Olivia's ltd edition and 37688 is in this years Catalogue. 37409 was also done for Model Rail. Thanks Mark

RMweb Gold Roy Langridge Posted April 5, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 5, 2017 Wonder why DRs binned the other livery ? Too confusing visually ? What livery? This is the early one and they have only got more complex since. Roy
Shoey
What livery? This is the early one and they have only got more complex since. Roy I think Rob D2 is referring to the 'basic' livery on 37423 if I am understanding correctly. Same as the 66's (66423/66424 etc)
