Peckett Cab Detail

I recently purchased a Minerva Peckett loco.  However I have recently partly dismantled the loco to provide additional detail in the cab and one quite significant item that seems to be missing is the reversing lever.  There is a square hole in the cab floor where it should be fitted as indicated by the blue arrow in the photo below.

So I'm wondering if it was originally intended to fit this item but it was in fact never fitted (to any model), or whether its an omission from mine and perhaps a few other models ?

Update 16/4/2017:

No apparent interest or response here, but the query has been answered on another forum.

Are you able to divulge the answer you received PGH?

Haven't had mine out of its box since reading your post but wondering whether I'll find one or not when I do take mine apart for detailing and was hoping that someone would answer your question.

Thanks,

Andrew

A reversing lever was included in the specification and was shown in the approved CAD drawings. It appears that some models have not been fitted with them. We have asked the factory if stocks of the item are available and will advise when we receive a reply.

Yes, I received replies from two members on the Gauge 0 Guild Forum who checked their models and found the levers were missing.  I assumed therefore that they were never supplied.  However if, as Chris says in the previous post, they were intended to be supplied and there may be a possibility that they could be, that would save the trouble of making one.

I await further information from Chris in hopeful anticipation !

Thank you both.

Have looked at my Peckett and it's missing the reversing lever too. There is a lever there but is likely either for the drain cocks or the sanders.

Would be interested in one when they arrive Chris, failing that, I might have one in my bits box that will do.

Just have to decide what else to do to mine now to make it a little different to most...

Cheers,

Andrew

Unfortunately, the factory did not mould any reversing levers for the Peckett and we are mystified as to how we missed it. The reversing lever in the Kerr Stuart Victory 0-6-0T is to a similar design so I will ask if any spares are lurking in the factory.

Regards,

Chris

Thanks for that.

If nothing suitable is available would it be possible to publish here the part of your CAD drawing that includes details of the reversing lever in the form of a .pdf or something similar so those of us who want to reproduce it can do so accurately ?

More than 4 months on and no response to the above request, so we must assume that Minerva are not willing to supply details of the missing reversing lever to enable anybody who wishes to produce their own.

One hopes that future Minerva models don't have any missing parts.

Here is a picture of Henry Cort's reverser. Taken at Foxfield Eailway.

Henry Cort is a modified W4 0-4-0 Peckett.

I hope this is of some use.

Many thanks for posting the photo, it should be very useful.

My apologies for missing this. I forgot and have been totally consumed with the Minerva GWR 8750 0-6-0PT loco, which was delivered two weeks ago. Here is a cutaway CAD drawing of the Peckett's cab showing the the lever. For interest, I have also attached a photograph of the interior of the 8750's cab.
