So, from the video accompanying the announcement of "Rails Exclusive" and their LNER Dynamometer Car was news that they would also ;

1:  Start a "TV channel" to show much more detail of models to be released, I assume this will be YouTube or similar ?

2:  Use more "social media" to publicise Rails Exclusive"  -  well just as long as they do press releases to RMWEB and similar.

3:  Three new announcements due by Christmas  -  well that gives lots of froth opportunities !  It would be nice if they were one each for the other members of the "Big Four" (the Southern Railways one can be a 4-COR ! ).

4:  Also, they announced that "Rails Exclusive" would include rare or premium second-hand items - this really confused me - any ideas how will this work ?

 Counter suggestion:

Then again, it's getting crowded 'down South', with a fair number of competing recent releases, and several announcements in the pipeline. We've seen a retailer commission for a large and popular express class from that area dropped recently, and no-one wants that sort of thing repeated. The spending power isn't infinite, good though it may be.

While there's a zillion prototypes without models from the Sheffield area northward, and much less competition to be anticipated. And there is some regional preference observable in purchasing choices, I am told. Lovely prototypes available from Cowlairs, Darlington and St Rollox, with not a hint of RTR models.

Just seen this video from a serial moaner-

How not to remove a model from its packaging.

I thought you might enjoy looking at the way he goes about it while moaning about a tiny little dent!

What a pillock.

Rails don't need a muppet like that as a customer, come to that, neither does anyone else deserve him.

So. Complains about a small dent that is obviously caused by the courier. Then shakes the box and contents. Then sets about the package with tools and struggles to remove the packaging. Any potential damage caused was by himself and he's even posted the evidence on YouTube.

A satisfied Rails customer. A shop that once replaced a damaged model that was on offer, with a different liveried one that was much more expensive, but for the sale price.

I don't understand the problem, there doesn't appear to be any damage to the loco or coaches. This guy seemed to give a lot more attention to the package than the loco and gave no attention at all to the coaches.

I've always found Rails pack things very well.

What an idiot #firstworldproblems!

Shakes the box, rough handling and hacked open! Does he also not realise the contents inside the box have travelled from China without any further packing inside which he also moans about.

I've bought a fair bit off Rails mainly second hand via eBay and had no issues. In fact the only time I had a problem a couple of wrong cars sent in my Super voyager. I suggested they might be in the voyager they were also selling at the time. They went and checked and found them, emailed me return labels whilst on still on the phone and the correct coaches were sent straight out. Only super service over the years.

Thanks

Mark
