Loksound XL losing chuff

I've been trying to check a loco and having two problems.

This loco was slightly juddering on starting and stopping so I did the cv54 tune up using an NCE powercab and now I get all sounds except the chuff, draincocks come on automatically and shut off but no chuffing.

I tried a reset and strangely it's only resetting to how I had it set up on the lokprogrammer including address 7! Unfortunately you can't set cv54 on the lokprogrammer as it seems not to have enough power for a big LGB loco.

The sound is now starting off too fast and putting a range of values in cv57 hasn't helped I just can't synch it to start, the chuffs start immediately but the loco doesn't move until step 8, sound is up to speed and it's still crawling along.

Just wondering if anyone knows what might be causing this as it was fine on the Z21 before. I only used the powercab as it was to hand so I guess I'll have to set up the lokprogrammer and rewrite the file but I can't tune the motor on that!

Seems strange cv54 has changed so much??

XL soundchips need a 5amp controller to function without issue. You have already discovered this with the Lokprogrammer, the Powecab is just the same. If it's underpowered during programming there's no telling what might be getting sent to the chip.

Well many many thanks to Wiggy, Neil, we've been sending emails back and forth and once I managed to get the full file copied and sent he suggested a couple of cv's to try changing and it got the chuffs back.

Another problem solved thanks.
