Pelham Street
I am sure I have seen somewhere models of $mm loco sand bins. Need one for model of Hitchin station. It was at the loco shed end of the Up platform in the 1950s. Can anyone help?

HeatonLodge40
I'd also look at Invertrains website that do BR/LMS/LNER & SR ballast bins and much else
PaulG
Further to the above I have looked on the two web-sites mentioned above but cannot see a sand bin as per the photos below. They look reasonably easy to scratch build, but anyone know the approx. dimensions or one in preservation?

They look reasonably easy to scratch build, but anyone know the approx. dimensions or one in preservation? Through a friend at Mangapps Railway Museum, we have the answer to the size as per attached, but I haven't been able to find anyone who has produced a model, so a little "scratch" building is required! ColHut
Just a note to say that there are several pictures of Stamford Shed including what appears to be a very similar sand bin next to the coal stage in Peter Paye's GNR Branches from Stamford (2017 Lightmoor Press). It seems to have some detail differences in the lid, and possibly painted green. regards
