Hayling Island Station buildings

Hi everyone,

 

As I progress form purchasing a Dapol Terrier to designing a layout for it, I keep finding photos and references online to the Hayling Island branch.  I am now looking at the potential of modelling one or two of the buildings from the line.  Although I can find plenty of photographs, I have not yet been able to find references to drawings.  Can anyone point me in the direction of published drawings of any of the railway buidlings on this branch?

Hi again,

 

The book was found online, and ordered late on Monday evening; it arrived today.

 

I've had a quick scan through it, and it looks great.  Where there aren't drawings there are more than enought photos to make up for it (e.g. signal cabin, and 'bothy').  The other three branches are interesting too; I am now tempted to get the other volume.  Also picked up the Tom Middlemass book on the Terriers.

I think the Middleton press book on the line has a lot of pictures of the signal boxette.

 

Ive often contemplated modelling the place myself, Hayling being where my mother grew up, and a place that we used to go on holiday.

 

Have you see the Hayling Billy website? Absolutely stacks of interesting stuff!

Thanks for the suggestion of the Middleton Press book; in the next month I'll be passing a few places where I maybe able to pick it up.

 

The 'Hayling BIlly' site is part of the reason behind this.  I had been looking for some resonable hi-res images of Terriers to look at modelling potential, and a couple of the links were to the site.

 

As for the Chris Leigh model, I'll look for some images first rather than take up the man's time with a PM.

I no longer have a copy but the February 1963 Model Railway Constructor had a prototype feature article on Hayling Island Station which may have a drawing.
