RMweb Gold TravisM Posted May 23, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2017 I know that there are very few, if any OO Scale Anhydrite wagons available, but I was wondering if there was any N scale kits or R-T-R wagons that could be adapted to get a good representation of the wagons. Also, can I ask what was the average number of wagons used on a Anhydrite train? Julian Sprott
RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted May 23, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2017 Hello Julian I believe there is a kit for the Anhydrite wagon in the N Gauge Society wagon kit range. I am sorry but I am not familiar with their operations. Cheers Ben A.

Julian Sprott Yes, there is an NGS kit of the 24t anhydrite hopper wagon: http://newweb.ngaugesociety.com/?page_id=53 IIRC it was initially a private members project by Andy Calvert to run on his Moorcock Junction layout (so was used on the Settle/Carlisle line) who then donated the tooling to the society. For more information there are several threads on RMweb (try a search) including this one: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/49181-br-anhydrite%E2%80%9D-hopper-what-flows-did-they-run-on/ G. Hi there, I've joined the N Gauge Society and I'll be buying several of these kits to make a reasonable representation of both a loaded and empty Anhydrite train. RMweb Premium Reorte Posted May 26, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 26, 2017 Also, can I ask what was the average number of wagons used on a Anhydrite train? 20 with the 9Fs I believe, fewer when they were operated by 8Fs, more when they went over to diesel. Those (well, the only one I've given a number to) will be maximums, so strictly speaking the average will be below that since they won't have gone over the maximum but might've had fewer. I think I've counted 18 in some 9F photos, but it could've been miscounting.
