Some examples of what gets done when I am well enough.

Firstly, some "Medfits" in Engineers usage:

And another batch is pending - destined for a spoil rake...

The BR Standard Van is a myriad and confusing subject.

Three separate "diagrams" with variations within those "diagrams." A few examples below will illustrate what I mean and show the sort of silliness I indulge in.

Parkside kits form the basis with replacement parts frae such as LMS (Dave Franks), Ambis, Alan Gibson and Exactoscale. And yes this are all built to P4 gauge and have no suspension or compensation. I am sure the Inquisition will be in touch.....  :O

Some great modelling there. I really like the engineers wagons. What transfers do you use?

Steve.

Fox, Modelmasters, CCT, Railtec and some home-brew on an ALPS printer.

A few more van shots for you to ponder on...

Weathering has been added to these, both in a subtle and brutal way,as is required by the subject matter...

The below image shows a rake of finished Dia.1/208,1/213 & 1/224 vans. I hope the careful tones on the separate roofs shows.

Thank you for sharing these images...  you have captured the mid / late 60s very nicely.

regards, Graham

Hmmmmmmm? The stock is dated for 1977, a period when it seemed anything went. The proverbial dogs breakfast indeed.

Mind, considering the way the railway was allowed to decay and fester frae '67 onwards...

Apologies, my memories of those days has been tired of late...  takes nothing away from the results that you are achieving.

Wow! Terrific work on those Medfits.

You've really caught the state of unloved mid-70s stock so well.

Can't wait to see more

Mick

You are welcome mon.

I hope to get some new images ready soon of the planned "spoil rake" as it is at present....

Very nicely done!

What's the layout these photos were taken on? (Is it yours?) In any case it looks quite grand.

The dearth of updates on activities at Padgate Works finally is coming to an end. A new image hosting site has provided a stimulus to reactivate my forum activities.

Mostyn is bound for Alexandra Palace in a few weeks time so the spoil rake, which has slowly been progressing for some time, is now nearing completion... I hope you can get an idea were things are upto. :thumb

Some more progress on the "spoil rake." This collection of shattered, banged up auld stock is ending its useful life in the service of the Engineering Department. All of the below are making their debuts at the annual Alexandra Palace this weekend. Mostyn will be entertaining the punters in its own unique way...

Do like the weathering you've applied. It's give all your wagons and vans bags of character.

That is what I endeavour to acheive Scott, character and individuality...

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would very much appreciate a "step by step" photo shoot, especially with regard to the use of "finescale" add-ons.

Pretty please.....

Its been too long since progress on the 'Spoil Rake' stock has been updated.

Basically, the rake is finished and will debut at the next show Mostyn appears at. The crud and the load has been a pleasure to create, I do seem to enjoy creating filth, detritus and muck encrusted rolling stock...
