I'm sure i'm not the only one on here who has a wish list of vehicle you wish you could buy in model form.

So whats on your list?

Here's a couple from me to get the ball rolling:

Ford Transit MK2 all variants including Bodied minibus

Bedford CF

Leyland EA

Marina Van

Astra Van

Leyland Terrier (G Cab variants)

I know that a couple of these are available as kits but it would be nice for some of the more popular commercial vehicles were produces and even better if they were produced in white or red so the modeller could decide what livery instead of having to buy an already liveried vehicle and then repaint it!

Add to your list the Freight Rover Sherpa 400/LDV Convoy.  I'm happy if it's done as a kit or diecast.

Anything from the early 1900s to late 1920s/early 1930s would be nice, in 4mm and 7mm scales. There's almost nothing available, unlike modern periods when there are just some gaps to fill.

Sierra hatchback - 80's and 90's rep mobiles, so numerous over about 20 years!

I know Oxford do the Sapphire with the boot but I think there were many more hatchbacks around.

Plus I'd like lorries from the 80's and 90's. Most commercials that are available are either much older or very modern.

Herpa have done a 1:87 scale Tranny2...

The above link is an example only....the casting looks  to me to be a trifle angular? But the basic shape is there?

Corgi also did a mk2 Tranny...scale unknown to me.

They are available it's finding them that's the problem, for many years I worked in the arcade industry, I came across very well detailed modern trucks and cars made in the far East all plastic sold to the arcade industry in there thousands to be put into 2p and 10p "pushers" to attract children to spend there pennies.

I believe many were marketed under the "Kentoys" brand, there modern trucks are quite well known but in 1/72 scale, they also did modern tractors as well. What they also did was 1/72 modern cars in plastic very detailed I have a few ford serrias, ford 100 pick ups, Mercedes Benz, etc. They also did quite a large range of Japanese 4x4.

1/72 scale can be a bit of a problem, there are ok if left on the road, but not on tierwags as there slightly to big

For 1930's prototypes check out some of the military kits. Roden produce an FWD lorry that although of WW1 vintage many survived into the 1930's and beyond. Ace models make a model of the GAZ AA Russian lorry which was a licence built version of the 1929-31 Ford AA lorry. Both these models are to 1/72 scale  but the scale difference is hardly noticable.

There's an absolute dearth of decent road vehicles in N/2mm for the 1970s to the end of the last millennium. Bog standard private saloon/hatchbacks is a particular problem but for commercials I'd like:

Sherpa van

Mk1 & 2 Transit

Ford Cargo

LT Leyland Titan

Commer Walk thru

Agree fully with you, there's a lot of Chinese copies of old "Tamiya" 1/72 scale Japanese military WW2 trucks, right hand drive they look very similar to late 1930's UK trucks and don't look out of place, they also do an aircraft ground crew accessories set loads of oil drums, tool boxes etc. They also do ford trucks as well.

I've found them as cheap as 50p in these bucket shops and market stalls excellent value

I would like an Edwardian LNWR Horse drawn omnibus and a parcels van. As it is unlikely anyone else will ever do it, I will probably design my own etched kit.

I would have thought that 3D printing would be the answer for all those who can't already get the vehicles they want.

PG Models do a cast pewter Sherpa minibus and van in 1:152 scale. Obviously, they're solid; and I know that the question of whether that should be acceptable these days is one where opinions vary. Personally, I don't regard it as a deal-breaker if the outline is right.

The Transit (1994 and 2000 versions) would be great.

Yes, thanks. I was aware, but their solid nature is an anathema in this day and age and doesn't cut it for me. Its also the later Sherpa K2 or possibly Freight Rover version. Has anyone tried drilling/cutting out the windows? Perhaps I'll have to have a go.

P&D Marsh do an 'open' cast white metal version of the early original but it's rather a fanciful interpretation. Just a shame there isn't a modern quality model in N/2mm.

I'd like to see some 1970's car's . Fiat 124/132. Skoda 120's Citroen BX./ AX. renault 5.

RailNScale do a 3D printed Skoda 105/120: https://railnscale.com/2016/08/19/skoda-105120/#jp-carousel-9233 and Renault 5: https://railnscale.com/2014/10/23/n2207-n2708-renault-5-n-1160/#jp-carousel-3622 and they will produce them in 1:148 scale if asked for. Check out: https://railnscale.com/modern-vehicles-british-n/ for others.

Apparently the top selling cars in the UK in the 1970s were:

Ford Cortina

Ford Escort

Morris Marina

Mini

Vauxhall Viva

Austin Allegro

Ford Capri

Austin 1100/1300

Ford Granada

Hillman Avenger

Some of those, and also some from the 1980s below, in N/2mm would do for me.

1980s top sellers:

Ford Escort

Fort Fiesta

Vauxhall Cavalier

Ford Sierra

Austin Metro

Vauxhall Astra

Ford Cortina

Ford Orion

Vauxhall Nova

Austin Maestro
