A brilliant day out Saturday with some local criminals no doubt some will recognise....

So started off at Cheltenham with the 07.25 to Worcester Shrub Hill

Then some views at Worcester with the unique large disc and calling on signal under the canopy...

And a very appropriate name....

On a very nicely liveried power car

Somehow the current livery doesn't have quite the same impact

So on to Kidderminster where we awaited the arrival of...

Hadnt seen a 68 working before this trip ...but mightily impressed, looks and sound.

So off through Brum Snow Hill and on to High Wycombe - a photogenic station but the lighting was wrong angle. Found this poor attempt to replicate the Worcester classic under the awning though...

So then back to Brum Moor Street behind another 68....

There were some dead dodgy types about....

And who says you need consistently sized transfers?

So after a wander in to centre of Brum to Ian Allen bookshop and to get some lunch it was back on the train to Marylebone

And that was the end of the photos - journey continued to Weatherspoons for a pint then back to Brum Moor Street and across to New Street for a Voyager back to Cheltenham.

Brilliant day! Thanks to Mark for organising - he did say something about an event with antlers but this cant have been it????

Good to see a railway which has invested in high class diesel locos for passenger haulage - good day out!

As you mention, a grand day out and sounds like great fun.  I just can't get to love the 68s though, one must either love 'em or hate 'em although I don't really hate 'em; just not my idea of good industrial design.
