Hi all I am trying to find out a bit more about this magazine and who the editor was in October 1998?

 

My reason is that it published a little know photo of the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway in that issue.

 

Did this magazine morph into another magazine or did it just stop trading?

 

Contact details of the then Editor would be most welcome.

It stopped being produced in paper form and morphed into mremag.com. The editor of the magazine—throughout its life (AFAIK), up to and for quite some time beyond the changeover—was Pat Hammond.

Hi there,

 

For my sins I have the first ever edition of this magazine.  It was published in November 1993 priced £1.70.  The editor at the time was Richard West.

The thread 'Model Railway Enthusiast' about 20 items down this same page might be of interest to you. I listed some Editorial names for the OP there.

The title morphed into 'Model Railway Collector' at some point in its lifetime, but ceased publication at least in printed format, without discernible warning. Even distributors WHSmith seemed unaware it was being discontinued.

Pat Hammond was always a major contributor to the Magazine, especially regarding 'collectibles'.
