RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted July 1, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 1, 2017 (edited) I read that Lexar memory cards may be discontinued shortly. Not as widely sold as some brands, they are nevertheless a quality brand name that has been about since DSLRs emerged, and they are another indication that smartphones are rapidly eating into camera sales, including DSLRs. If you use XQD cards - certain high-end cameras do - I think you are down to a single supplier now. Edit : Just to put a dimension on declining DSLR sales. They appear to have virtually halved in 5 years. Not good for the future. Edited July 1, 2017 by Oldddudders
Danemouth
Ian, I saw the same announcement this week. This will leave Sony as the sole maker of XQD cards unless somebody buys Lexar. Over the past couple of years Nikon has used these cards in their flagship D5 & D500 cameras - typical of them! Luckily my D600 use two SD slots, Regards, Dave
