RMweb Gold Hattons Dave Posted July 3, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 3, 2017 Hi all, Following the development of our exclusive LNER Class A3, A4 and teak coaches with Heljan, we are pleased to announce that we are pairing up again to produce a further O gauge project in the form of a pair of Class 20s with disc headcodes. Heljan's model is coming back onto the scene later this year with four-character headcode boxes however the original disc headcode model has been sought after ever since its release seven years ago and the availability of both types allows a large variety of 'pairs' to be modelled as well as individual locos. Many regular pairs in the late 1980s onwards were of mixed headcode varieties such as Thornby's 20118/165 and 20090/132 on trips to Skegness in the early 1990s. Its mainly because of this that we've chosen to produce two locomotives, both in 1980s/1990s guises, with Railfreight Red Stripe featuring on Heljan's disc headcode Class 20 for the first time. Full details are on the main website here with pre-orders invited. Release is scheduled alongside the four-character headcode '20s' later in the year. Pre-Production colour layouts are below. As ever, click the images for bigger versions. delticfan
Nice model but too expensive, sorry. Going to order two headcode versions for a double header in BR blue from Hattons of course!
ggdixon
I agree, excellent idea, but not worth the £130 premium unfortunately
kernowtim
Could have been tempted if they released a green one but not when they are so much more expensive, going to pass on this!!
