RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted July 8, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 8, 2017 Hi I have tried to upload several images on both my desk top and lap top computers. After selecting the image I am getting. Error This upload failed. I would send a screen shot but guess what happened?

RMweb Gold DaveF Posted July 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) Another small issue Andy. I've received a couple of PMs this evening which I noticed and read on RMWeb but neither has been sent to my e mail address. it's not very important to me, I can easily live without it until you have a chance to investigate I'm quite relieved it's not just me with the photo upload problem. Andy, I don't know if this is part of the same problem or a different one but I seem to have stopped receiving notifications. Thanks.
71000
It will be later tomorrow before I can investigate I am afraid. Uploading photos was fine from here in Spain until exactly 06.00 BST this morning. From this time no further pictures would upload !

Andy Y
I am at a loss on this one; I reported the problem last night but, unusually for Dediserve, I didn't get any automated notifications that they'd received the request so I was in the dark whether they had the information from me. Anyway, whether it was a glitch that resolved itself or whether they did intervene or whether it was part of a wider problem I really do not know. However, it does seem to be OK now. RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted July 9, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) Indeed, the banner on the home page has been taken off, but I get the error message when trying to load a pic Edit: Andy's just re-added the homepage banner! Andy Y
OK; I had a thought and deleted some old content and have tried some uploads which worked which indicates we've hit some kind of physical space limit which needs to be investigated and addressed. RMweb Premium dhjgreen Posted July 9, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 9, 2017 There used to be a "search limited to 'date'" text in the top of the page which has gone.
St. Simon
Hi, I can now upload images, but the uploader is forcing portrait images to be rotated to Landscape, I've made sure that they are rotated the correct way on my computer, but no luck, could it be something my end or to do with the uploader? St. Simon
Are you using an Apple device Simon? No, I was using my Laptop with Google Chrome, but I've tried using my iPad and it does the same thing. Simon
St. Simon
Hi Andy, Scrub that problem, must of been my end, Windows seems to automatically rotate the preview, but not the file, managed to upload them now! Simon
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted July 9, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 9, 2017 Andy, as a temporary solution, how about (re)moving the old forum to free up space on this server, and a dedicated server/host for the old forum at a more convenient time. [edit: I'd also suggest re-instating an upload limit of 500kB for images. If you want your "super ultra HD HD" image to require more space for whatever reason, find your own hosting ] Is that per image, or a total limit? Joking apart, I edit most of my images to be under 250KB without it compromising either an acceptable size or level of detail. For example, this image is 1296 x 864 pixels, and comes out at 214KB: Al.
davefromacrossthepond
From what I can see . . . . a problem is "reported." It is looked into, investigated, tweaked, checked again, and apparently solved. Within a couple of days. Way cool.
