Hi, I'm thinking of building a oo gauge modern image micro layout. I would like to make up a network rail engineers train but on a minimum budget. I plan to buy some cheap old coaches on ebay and repaint them into network rail yellow. This is all good and well until you look under the coaches and see all that fancy equipment. I would be really grateful for any help or guidance on what it is or what it does or how I could scratch build it. Thanks. :)

This site has a lot of infomation and photos,  Googling the numbers of coachs you are interested should find more photos.

Also look at http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/53157-newbryfords-mostly-yellow-and-orange-workbench/ and Big Jims threads to find lots of useful info.

Now edited to include the first link I didn't put in when tired.

I made a short rake of NR test coaches (details of the build here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/76254-laoson-valley-1990s-to-modern-day-tmd-oil-terminal-p-way-yard/?p=2207460)

As for under floor equipment, I just searched for side on photos of the real thing and built representations of the equipment in plasticard and styrene sections/bars.

Hope this helps
