Lovemymodelling
Just something I've always wondered that why most mainland European countries seem to have adopted a uniform green for their passenger stock from early 20th century, is it the same shade for all that adopted it? It seems the 60s most broke away with SNCF adding a grey window area, DB adopting several schemes and OBB red and white.
RMweb Premium 31A Posted July 23, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 23, 2017 I've sometimes pondered on that too; I don't think the shades of green were ever the same, but the only exception I can think of from the bigger national railway systems is Italy where I don't think green was ever used (although I may be wrong!). Lovemymodelling
I think FS used grey I'm not sure but think SBB held on the longest to the green, the orange eurofimas were also a breath of fresh air wonder if any are still in orange today? EddieB
Far too subjective to be able to differentiate between shades of green. All I know is that not all black locomotives were of the same shade!
