TEAMYAKIMA
Hi I don't model 4mm - I model HO - and so I don't know much of what is available in the 4mm detailing arena. Can anyone help - any brand either 4mm or 3.5mm ..... I'm looking for a sink either in a kitchen cabinet or just an old fashioned stand alone wall mounted sink ....... any ideas? Thanks Paul
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted August 1, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2017 IIRC, the one I fitted in the DitD caravan was just a 5 sided cube of plasticard, with a slightly smaller opening in the counter top. Do you need it chrome coloured, in a building, on a scrapheap or a delivery truck - i.e. in what context will it be used ?
tamperman36
Try looking at the vac formed plastic packaging you get these days, or the packaging from some pills once used. You may find some useful little pieces once cut out and painted.
bertiedog
Staring at a row of perfect sink mouldings is thin plastic from a pack of Ibruprofen! Larger sizes would make cast iron baths, and to get a metal surface on the sink, rub on aluminium foil over a spot of PVA inside the moulding., or spray with paint to taste. Some pill mouldings would make scale hip baths etc. Stephen

RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted August 1, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2017 Paul, Try searching for this : "Teraysun 1/75" There seems to be quite a lot of furniture, some of which might be suitable for your hairdressers. Stu

Stu Many thanks, useful link but no sink. I'm hoping to find a traditional 1930's style domestic style sink - maybe 3D printed? Paul

rue_d_etropal
Try the architectural modelling suppliers, EMA in UK who handle Plastruct in UK. There are certainly some sinks in range. Also 4D supplies in London. 3D printing possibly offers best chance, as there are a lot of people designing model household bits. Also they should be able to do it in what ever scale you need. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted August 2, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 2, 2017 Check out some of the military modellers suppliers. I have a complete 1/72 scale bathroom from one such supplier that even includes a towel rail, loo brush and even a loo roll in holder. It is 1930's style with the wall mounted cistern and cast in resin. The bad news is that this particular model is no longer in production but plenty of similar models are available.
