Dartford Model Railway Exhibition - 16th & 17th September 2017

The Erith Model Railway Society's annual September show will return to The Leigh Academy in Dartford for our third show there.

 

Venue address: The Leigh Academy, Green Street Green Road (B260), Dartford, Kent, DA1 1QE.

 

Opening Times: Saturday 16th September 2017 - 10:00am to 5:00pm & Sunday 17th September 2017 - 10:00am to 4:00pm.

 

Entry Prices: Adults - £6.00. Concessions - £5.50. Children (5-16) - £3.50. Family (2+2) - £15.00. Children Under 5 - Free.

Entry price includes free exhibition guide.

 

The show will encompass at least 15 layouts (including the club's new OO gauge layout Fleet Lane), trade support (including sponsorship from Kent Garden Railways, David Wills & Layouts4U), a few demonstrators (including the club's Foxley Service Centre - Loco Diagnostic & Cleaning Service) and static exhibits, making about 40 stands in total.

 

The venue can be reached by Arriva bus service Fastrack B from Dartford railway station, stopping at Dartford Princes Park then 5-10 minute walk.

 

There is a sizeable free on-site car park, full disabled access (including toilets located in the building where the catering area is) and a large catering seating area.

The exhibition listings have been finalised (barring any last minute dropouts) and can found on our website.

 

​We have 40 stands in total (19 layouts, 14 trade stands, 3 display stands, 2 demonstrators, a society stand from the Rother Valley Railway and the club's loco repair stand) attending the show.

Set up this evening has all gone well.

 

Everyone who said that they were turning up this evening, did turn up.

 

The rest will be setting up tomorrow morning before we open at 10:00am.

 

The only change is that the layout Elwyn Flats is not attending, but we do have a club member's layout Rockmount in as a replacement.

 

Our new OO gauge layout Fleet Lane will be one of the first things to greet visitors on entrance to the show.

We have had a pretty good weekend for what is the club's smaller show (our larger one is at the end of January).

 

The clear-up yesterday afternoon went well and we were all finished by about 5:20pm.

 

Our new OO gauge layout Fleet Lane gained a fair bit of attention on its debut and has already got three invites for other shows.

 

Our Exhibition Manager Paul Plummer is looking to sell one of his layouts Foxley Junction TMD (8ft by 6ft, OO gauge, DCC). He can be contacted via the club's Contact Us page.

 

Plenty of photos of the exhibition have been uploaded to our Facebook page and please feel free to add any comments about the show on this thread. We will consider them and other feedback we receive and see if we can make any improvements for future shows.
