“Highland Sulzers” - Inverness TMD in the 80's - P4

I'm spending a bit of time today working out the fiddleyard configuration.

In essence the 'problem' is two tracks come off the main board and I want three fiddleyard roads. Loco's have to be able to get anywhere on the main layout and fiddleyard with out being physically taken off the layout.

Heres a picture of the proposed three fiddleyard roads and the two tracks coming off the main board.

I tried to incorporate the signals (and the signal box) on the layout but was constrained by space.

A shame as they’re both really nice looking.

Add an extra board?...

No.

I’m struggling to build this time wise let alone anything bigger.

If you'd have stuck to EM instead of elevating yourself to the heirarchy you would have had time!

This is what it looks like from the other end.

Anybody think of any issues?

I think those engines are going to derail if they get much closer.

Ah, that’ll be my taxi outside, excuse me while I fetch my coat...

I'm building track, whatever the gauge.

This what I'm thinking for the S&C configuration.

This gives enough room for a baby Sulzer and visiting class 50 in the centre road.

At least 3 type 2s on the front road

and on the back

I've been looking at it on and off for a while now, I think it will work.

Anybody think of any issues?

The 50s ‘OO’, the 25s ‘EM’ and the 26s P4.

So the problems bigger than you’d imagined,

Can't see any of them getting through that pointwork, think you need to brush up on your technique.

Will you need to move a loco from the back line to the front line without it appearing on stage ?

Would a point off the ftont line to a double slip for lines middle & back be more flexible? You could shorten both as they are off scene.

I don’t have an issue of locos shuffling around, especially in a Depot...
