Pelham Street
I am about to build some o gauge wood post signals. For strength I intend to file a taper on square section brass, in order to get the post the right size. I would like to light them. I was thinking about using square section tube. but it may be too thin to hold a taper. If it is made in solid square section, how can I wire it up? bécasse
It is possible to file a taper on two brass L sections and then solder them up to provide your hollow tapered post. It is actually a little easier than it sounds as two out of the four tapers that need to be filed can be done after the two L sections are soldered together. Stephen Freeman
Hi, Lochgorm Kits used to do parts for such a signal post but alas no more, between myself and Jon Fitness we cleared him out. So I thought I'd better do something about it. If you have a look at either of our threads or indeed the Gazette ....... Here is one I did earlier, admittedly not the railway you are looking for but the principle remains the same. Modelu finial and lamp body (you have to paint the interior with a reflective metallic paint like silver or aluminium, otherwise the light shines through the body, where you don't want it to.)
