RMweb Gold stovepipe Posted August 17, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 17, 2017 I think the booked stock for these trains in the 1950s was non-gangwayed BS(5) - CL(3:4) - S(8) - BS(5), which could be Gresley, Thompson (as made by Hornby in 4mm) or NER varieties. This seems to match the lower picture quite well, but with an additional strengthening S.

RMweb Premium Dava Posted August 19, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 19, 2017 Ian Kirk provides excellent kits in 7mm scale for the LNER Gresley and Thompson non-corridor stock used on these services. The kits are mainly plastic, tried and tested, and very reasonably priced. See website: http://www.iankirkmodels.co.uk/products1/lner Ian is a helpful contributor to this site and can be found with his stand at Gauge 0 events such as Guildex at Telford on 2-3 Sept.
