Dear all,

Does any one have a list of the articles on structure modelling written by M H Bradley in the early 1980s for his Porthcuno branch. He was a 3mm modeller if that helps. I seam to recall he did one article on a rather nice customs house...

I doubt this is a complete list but my own index has the following (all in Railway Modeller):

 

July 1980: Typical GWR Goods Shed

 

August 1980: Devon Estuary Inn 

 

January 1981: Mol's Coffee House, Exeter

 

December 1981: Old Custom House, Exeter.

"Buildings For Model Railways", published by David & Charles in 1983, isbn 0715383434. I think he also had some articles in Model Railways magazine around the same time, but they might have been about 3mm rolling stock.

I have a feeling that I once built a model of the old Customs House from his drawings in the Railway Modeler - or at least I think I did.

 

Anyway, if it was, my take can be seen in my thread 'A lifetime's work in pictures' where Andy Y put up a picture of it.

 

Of course, this may not be the Customs House at all as referred to here.

Didn't one of the mags give away a 'free' insert of one of his designs?  A warehouse or similar? As I virtually never throw anything away, I've probably still got it somewhere!

 

Or am I getting mixed up with something else similar?
