RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted August 28, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 28, 2017 Oh dear! How can they get it so wrong? The trams are overcrowded, but the infrastructure won't allow them to run more trams - even if they had them! There is a 2nd tram line in Sydney, but since the infrastructure & the trams themselves, are to differing standards including mere details, like width! So they cannot 'borrow' some from the other line! http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/why-trams-on-sydneys-booming-inner-west-light-rail-arent-running-more-often-20170817-gxyf4o.html Just as bad as Brisbane, who have built a new suburban rail line, yet somehow, overlooked the fact that more drivers were required. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/politics/queensland/queensland-rail-trains-28-out-of-required-200-new-train-drivers-20170719-gxe42z.html How can you possibly not know, that more drivers' will need training?
rue_d_etropal
In Finland they are building a new metro, should be open, was intended as non driver operated. Someone built the platforms wrong length, but instead of rebuilding the platforms, they are converting to driver operation, with all the extra work required, and delays to opening. RobClogs
... Instead, they built it with their eyes focused on their wallets. In all, time for a public enquiry, after which heads must roll, into the question 'What went wrong here?'
