Except there is no connection between that line and the French LGV, while on the Swiss side, the only realistic option to travel to is towards Biel or Basel. In case of the latter, you'd come in from the wrong side (south-east) which is also the "exit" through trains need to take en-route to Zürich, Bern, Italy and Austria. What it does do is the provision to extend the Swiss S-Bahn system from its current terminus in Delle towards Belfort as well as an alternative path for trains from Nancy, Metz, Luxembourg towards Neuchatel, Lausanne and Geneva, bypassing the Mulhouse-Basel bottle-neck.
