Hello my name is Kevin and I have always been interested in model railways but recently I have started to build my small shunting plank in oo gauge and as I have limited space. I'm looking forward to learning more about this great hobby through the forum.

Hello Kevin,

Welcome from County Durham - and all corners of the globe, I suppose.

I'm from Middlestone Moor but now live in Durham.

What will be the subject of your plank?

I'm in the process of building a layout of Newton Hall Junction in 00 gauge so we might be able to help each other.

Newton Hall Junction is on the ECML and the junction went to Sunderland. This line was originally the Sunderland and Bishop Auckland Railway and was the first railway to use the current Durham station.

Give me a shout if you need anything.

Bob

Hi Karl thanks for the welcome and I live in the market town of Bishop Auckland.

Kev,

I'm just up the road in Consett. We're probably at the same stage, my 8' x 2' layout has been mothballed for so long now with kids moving back home, redundancy and relocation. I will get my railway room back soon when my daughter soons moves out, so planning the next layout. It seems so long since I have ran anything, just spending my time detailing what I had and bought recently.

Like Craig says, don't be scared about asking questions, you get a speedy response from the encyclopaedic forum members.

Regards

Karl

Hi Tony thanks for the welcome and the link to some of the clubs layout, they have gave me some ideas for my layout. I find it hard joining a club as I don't drive so I just take myself along to shildon nrm when there are model railway days on.☺
