The TurboTrain prices in USD have been up on the Rapido Trains website for a while now, so I had a 'ballpark' starting point:

I had been just about to order direct anyway when I noticed the RoS banner ad on here.

No prices and only a 2 week deadline to make the orders?

 

I live in Canada, and my local hobby shop lists the pre-order prices for most products in US$ given that most stuff comes from the US and there is no way to predict the US$ -> C$ exchange in advance.

 

I assume it is a similar issue here, where the US$ -> £ is too unpredictable to make a confirmed price at this point.

 

The US$ amount can be found on Rapido's website for all announcements, however here are the current prices:

 

1) HO Modernized Amtrak F40PH / Amtrak Cabbage - $299.95 (DC/DCC/Sound) - $199.95 (DC/Silent)  [note the cabbage comes with motor]

 

2) HO SW1200RS - $325 (DC/DCC/Sound) - $225 (DC/Silent)

 

3) N TurboTrain - Check website given the various options available:

Maybe a good case for showing the US$ price in the webpage so you can work out an approximation - allowing of course for fluctuation.

We will always endeavour to give you the best possible price. Should the price ever be a problem there is always the option to cancel.

Yup, I avidly follow the newsletters so I was fully aware of the relationship.  Until I saw the banner ad I hadn't seen a specific order page on the RoS website so I was happy to be able to use the link.

Which is why I used the term 'ballpark', I've been ordering from various countries for a number of years - including a couple of the GMD-1s directly from RT. I specifically wanted to avoid giving the impression the Rapido Trains USD pricing was an absolute, but rather a starting point.

The N scale TurboTrains leave the factory TONIGHT. They will be here around November 1st. We have a tiny handful of Turbos available. Please contact us if you've just realized you want one.

Allowing for RoS getting their pre-orders the Chrimbo self-prezzies should be sorted then
