Layout extensions

Looking for some tips and advice

 

For the past few years I've toyed with the idea of building a extension for my small N gauge railway ' Balsa Rd'   anyone got any tips or advice please,

 

IM looking to try and build a two platform station, and maybe a small goods yard,   and might keep the inner oval to use it as a junction for a freight line

I would suggest taking the line to the extension off the rear and brining it to your terminus so that you are looking at it end on rather than side on.
