Never been in this place, despite it only being 45 minutes from me, I didn't even know it existed but it looks and interesting shop. locals to the Bedford area may know it better than me

The BBC are carrying a story about them celebrating 150 years in business.

It changed hands earlier in the year/end of last year.

New owner has increased what's on offer, there was a few railway items when I was in there about 6 weeks ago and they also carry some stocks of modelling materials such as plastrut, glues, paints etc.

If you're over that way wouldn't hurt to pop in, still an old fashioned iron mongers and popular.

GOLDINGS !!!!

Born and lived just half a mile away off Tavistock Street..........

This shop started my Airfix aircraft and then railway modelling journey from 1961 - 1967 until O Levels kicked in !!!

All thats left from an early road vehicle kit...............................

In the early 60s I was a frequent browser and a customer when funds permitted; the shop was between school and the bus station. I was buying Airfix mostly  but was fascinated by the American hot rod, custom car and dragster kits. My mate Dusty was into balsa planes with glo-plug engines. ISTR they stocked Airfix magazine when it started, but I may have been getting that from the newsagent on the nearby corner, which also sold Hot Rod, so inspired by the US kits I started buying that and later, following the early days of UK drag racing. I'm pleased they are still going.
