MGR Hooper!
Hey, Does anyone have any experience with using Sculpteo? If so any feedback? Are they any good to begin with and does their quality rival that of Shapeways? TIACheers
Kelly
Never heard of it/them.
MGR Hooper!
Never heard of it/them. Here's their website: https://www.sculpteo.com/en-gb/ According to many websites and surveys Sculpteo is one of the Top 10 3D Printing Services in the world. I've only heard the name Sculpteo crop up often but never heard much about their quality, lead times, cost etc.
Penrhos1920
Some of their materials appear to be the same as Shapeways, but with different parameters, so something that Shapeways will print won't be printed by Sculpteo. I haven't compared prices as I've just had a bunch done by SW.
Quarryscapes
Only ever used their CLIP print, not worth bothering with.
rue_d_etropal
I am always wary of brief negative comments. Sorry, but it does not help. Here is something one member of this forum(in fact one of his layouts comes up in header photos for the forum), and his models look OK https://www.sculpteo.com/fr/print_old/fourgon-decauville-maroc-hoe/KEYSfuJy?basket=1&noclickredirect=1&uuid=2MH0hHeMiwCecQrYinxM9f Edited September 30, 2017 by rue_d_etropal
Quarryscapes
Give me your address and I'll send you what they sent me and you can judge for yourself. I certainly have no use for it.
rue_d_etropal
I would rather people posted pictures here for others to judge. What is CLIP? Information shared can be useful, which is why I posted the link to something someone else had had printed . OK

Information shared can be useful, which is why I posted the link to something someone else had had printed . OK Actually you posted a link to the Sculpteo page, not the result - though I can tell just by looking at it that printed in CLIP resin it would be a dog's dinner. CLIP was set to be a game changer - look back a year or so ago and you'll see lots of hype about it being the most detailed, high quality and layer less print you can get. It was only available to a select few at first, Sculpteo I think were the first to offer it IIRC, but only to a special few. Then it all fell silent on the wonder printing method, so I tried it - and the silence was justified. Pics will follow after work.
Quarryscapes
Compared to Shapeways BHDA and i.Materialise standard resin. This cost £46 and is terrible, the i.Materialise version cost a 1/3rd of that and is the best print.
John_Hughes
Compared to Shapeways BHDA and i.Materialise standard resin. This cost £46 and is terrible, the i.Materialise version cost a 1/3rd of that and is the best print. Fascinating and very instructive! Can I ask which of the i.Materialise finishes gave such a nice result?
Talltim
Does the Sculpteo one have extra floor planks on purpose or that purely down to visible layering?

Okay so daft question, I know we can all identify the Sculpteo one, but which is which in terms of the other two?
Quarryscapes
Fascinating and very instructive! Can I ask which of the i.Materialise finishes gave such a nice result? This particular one is Standard Resin https://i.materialise.com/3d-printing-materials/standard-resin which is much cheaper to boot, Does the Sculpteo one have extra floor planks on purpose or that purely down to visible layering? Exact same STL file in each case, the floor planks are unidentifiable amongst the mess. Okay so daft question, I know we can all identify the Sculpteo one, but which is which in terms of the other two? Top to bottom in the stack is Sculpteo, Shapeways and i.Materialise. The painted wagon on its own is the Shapeways one - identifiable because the support nubs are still visible on the end, I didn't want to try and remove them from near rivets. John_Hughes
Thanks for the info! I think I'll give the i.Materialise resin a try!
