RMweb Premium JDW Posted October 12, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 12, 2017 Hi, I was looking at the latest ModelRail, and an idea that I've had in the back of my mind for a while came back to me, first inspired by posts by LongRail on his thread a few years back: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/82595-departmental-and-test-trains/?p=1925488 From wondering about LEV1, I started to think about creating a class 141 from the same bus bodyshells, but of course the cab end is different, which led me to think of 3D printing. Now, I have no idea about such things, so my question is whether there's anyone out there who has already done such a thing, or might like to have a go? My thoughts being that a cab end with cabside window and drivers door could be mated with cut-and-shut Leyland National shells for a 141, but could also be used to create the later LEV version(s) with 141-style cab, without the external cab door. Anyone with too much spare time up for the challenge...?
