Harvey Haddon Sports Village is fully accessible with level access throughout and has free on-site parking, on-street parking nearby is free and unrestricted on weekends.

Our demos - Getting Started feature

This year at the Nottingham Model Railway Exhibition our demonstrations focus on improving modelling skills for new modellers and those returning to the hobby as well as new techniques that may be unfamiliar even to long-time modellers.

Thanks to our friends at Peco, we will have a free hands-on kit building workshop. If you've never built a  plastic kit before or you're just looking to improve your skills - come along and have a go.

If you want to move on from "ready to plant" buildings, David Wright will be demonstrating how to make your own unique buildings using modelling clay, card and coffee cups!

Green Scene's very own John Lloyd will be talking about how to build your landscape and scenery whether it's babbling brooks or pit tips

Computer Aided Design - Rob Law will be talking about the techniques he uses to develop his O gauge models using Computer Aided Design, 3D printing and laser cutting to produce unique models.

The Nottingham team will be on hand to share the know-how we have gained building exhibition layouts like Streatham which is making a welcome return to the Nottingham show this year. They will also be happy to talk about  baseboard construction, layout wiring, DCC, scenery and any other aspect of building a layout

Sounds like some very good demo's to get people [re]started in modeling with new techniques! Rob Law's demo looks especially interesting.

Following the fire at Nottingham Station on Friday, we are aware of the disruption to rail travel at the moment and will give more information on ways to get to Harvey Haddon by public transport closer to the date of the show

Was it the honourable (maybe dishonourable?) Mr Downes who built a 4mm one featured in the RM around 1977?

The Burnham on Sea layout will not now be at the 2018 show as its owner, Alastair Knox, is undergoing treatment for a medical condition. We all wish Alastair a speedy recovery and look forward to having the layout at our 2019 show.

Just had confirmation from Booklaw of the two titles that they are releasing at Nottingham Show

"Around the East Midlands by Rail in the 1970s and 1980s" by Graham Jelly

"The story of the Nottingham Suburban Railway Volume 3" by David Birch

Both authors will be on Booklaw's stand over the weekend doing signings, come along and meet them.

Some of are returning from warmer climes to bring layouts to the show. Can the hall be about 22C with a gentle sea breeze please?

Baz

Can't manage that in the hall but if you bring your swimming cossie, the pool in the next hall is lovely!
