Jerry1975
Hi Everyone. I thought I would give the challenge a go. The idea being a very small yard serving a coal merchant and a loading dock, detailed up. So far I have a piece of foamboard cut to 8"x8" and I will put the backscene around to the 6" hight limit. More soon. Jerry.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 18, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 18, 2017 I think that's the point with the these - the detail added can be very high.
Jerry1975
I think that's the point with the these - the detail added can be very high.Indeed, I hope to add detail to my little diorama. Well, this is what I started with: After much positioning of buildings etc I decided on this: Nothing is stuck down in this photo so I'm going to stick it down now and do a bit more work. More soon. Jerry1975
Hi Everyone. I have done a bit more work, here is the latest progress: As you can see, I have added a wills hut, coal staithes' again from wills and figures, dust bin, push bike etc. I also started on the track which I have painted, it needs a bit of finishing. The photos are a bit poor so will try and get better ones. More soon. Jerry.
RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 20, 2017 Very nice. This really shows what a photo backscene can add. Any ideas yet for the front part of the scene?
Jerry1975
Very nice. This really shows what a photo backscene can add. Any ideas yet for the front part of the scene? Thanks Mikkel. Jerry1975
Thanks Booking Hall for your kind words. I'm just deciding what to do at the front, my first idea was to have a loading dock and lots of detail or something else. More soon. Jerry.
Jerry1975
Hi Everyone. I have done some more work on the diorama tonight, here is a photo of latest work: As you can see I have added a loading dock which I had left over from a Metcalfe kit, and added some details to it such as figures, milk churns etc. The crates need painting and the bit of track will be replaced with a better painted piece cut to size. Still a bit to do yet. More soon. Jerry.
RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted October 23, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2017 That looks nice and well balanced. Maybe a barrow crossing from the end of the platform?
Jerry1975
Hi Mikkel. Thanks for your reply, a barrow crossing is a good idea so thanks for that. I changed the platform top of the loading point as I felt it didn't look right and it looks better now, I will post a photo later. More soon. Jerry.
