Hello. Has anyone got a decent photo or drawing to locate the Scotrail branding on blue grey MK1 and MK2 coaches? I have a ruff idea but only from angled pictures. I really need a decent side on picture. Google didn't turn up much so I'm asking the knowledgeable's. :)

Thanks.

Do you mean the early Scotrail or the later ScotRail?

You would need to refer to specific coaches

To start with the logo was applied before Inter-City, where there was space

Later they were applied straight over the Inter-City

Regional coaches (usually Mark 1 SK / BSK / TSO) did not have such logos, so was placed about 18" from the door to the left

However this varied wildly, and I remember one coach where it was about 4" from the door!

A few MK2 coaches and AFAIK one MK3 Sleeper were branded "Inter-City ScotRail"  Mk1 coaches were either non branded/Inter-City or ScotRail.  The early version of the ScotRail branding used a "lower case "r" ie Scotrail.

The ScotRail branding was normally applied under the first window at the left hand side, apart from brake coaches where it was between the brake compartment doors, (with the brake end at the left), the other side was the same as open coaches. As always, there were variations from standard on some coaches.
