GEOEng03
Hi all, I just wondered whether anyone had any pictures or sightings of Class 68's in the SW in Devon? I know that the DRS livery ones made it on the test trains a few times between Bristol and Plymouth, but wondered whether the Chiltern or Scotrail ones also made it that far south? I am toying with the idea of acquiring a Scotrail 68 and it would be good if they had made it as far south as this. I know it is my railway and i can run what i like, but would be good to have a prototype comparison. Cheers
Steadfast
I don't think any of the Chiltern or ScotRail ones have come down that way, though happy to be proved wrong. I believe the DRS ones have worked the Northern Belle down there, they've certainly got to Bristol on it Jo
Clay Country
The DRS-liveried 68s have visited Cornwall on several occasions since early 2016: https://flic.kr/p/Hqn5UA As far as I know no Scotrail or Chiltern 68s have run as far west as Devon or Cornwall. toffee
Simple answer is no. The 68s have been in the area on test trains before Colas bought the 67s and on the odd Pullman special. The Chiltern and Scotrail pair are for their services. Now you will have seen pictures of these on such as the Crewe - mountsorrell NR trains but that's because they have been used to test them after undergoing exams at Crewe. I'd imagine both TOCs would wonder why their locos were off on a jolly in the south west ! But as you said it's your railway !
