Yes, the Misox railway hasn't really fulfilled its potential due to the lack of connection to the RhB in Thusis, as originally planned. WW-I effectively destroyed it, with much of the workforce (Italians) called under arms and the casualty rate of that war meaning labour would never be so cheap again. The BFD (now part of the MGB network) suffered similarly, but was fortunate that it provided a vital military link so it was finished post WW-I. Then the Misox line lost a large section of the line due to landslides while at about the same time loosing it's most vital customer meant the line was effectively doomed. Recent Streetview images show that pretty much all of the remaining town section has been taken up, so the last link to a mainline station is gone. I'm not sure how the remainder of the line can survive as the tourist railway it had effectively become.

I seem to recall that the preseved section was effectivelt evicted.  I drove past it one time when going from Kundl in Austria to Visp on a work trip and I decided to go the scenic route.  I remember seeing some bits of rollingstock and when I passed the same area when going on holiday to Italy and used the San Bernardino, I looked for it again but couldn't see it.  A google search suggested that they had been moved due to road widening from memory...
