RMweb Gold Tim Hall Posted November 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 8, 2017 I imagine it's a Climax. It's a Heisler.
brack
It's a Heisler. Its an avonside geared loco, clearly borrowing heavily from heislers designs, but the bogies on owl are gear coupled rather than rod coupled. Its based on an avonside proposal rather than any of the 2 or 4 cylinder designs they actually supplied to south Africa (which were all rod coupled like a heisler). AMJ
Nice to see Hawk the blue Kitson Meyer is running again. I often have a ride when not at the Middleton.
John_Hughes
It's a Heisler. Of course it is - silly of me! Thanks for the correction!
