I have another bit of foamboard so this time it's going to be a diorama made mostly out of pictures found in magazines, papers etc to see if it possible. The thinking behind this is is perhaps a diorama a child could build, the locomotives are going to be from magazines too cut out and stuck on to the diorama. I wanted to see if you could build a diorama ( or a layout ) by using photos of buildings etc you might find in magazines such as modelling, home, photography magazines etc and use these, stuck to appropriate sized boxes/shapes and used for scenery, buildings, locomotives and even figures, vehicles, animals etc. The basic structure will be made out of cardboard ( things that a child could get hold off ) and the rest will be built upon this. Had you thought about making everything flat , you know like stage scenery where its all staggered to give the depth ( if you know what I mean ?) The inside of the box as the shop interior with shelves and counter and even customers. Fix the lid on and you can only see in through the window. I have had the dreaded flu for the last couple of days or so but feeling better now, I have cut the foamboard to size and made the basic baseboard.
