LNWR18901910
Yes, this is where I shall share all my RWS-accurate models from now on! I intend to go through all the ones I have done in the past as well as the ones I am currently working on right now and even a taster or two. Hands up who wants to see the Sodor engines done in style? Of course, I aim to go for a more realistic and prototypical look, better than what the manufacturers have done (Hornby/ Bachmann, etc.) and go for a more accurate style true to the original Awdry's vision...and some exceptions being TV Series characters, too. Expect some pictures of Henry, James and Molly as well as other characters like Duck and many more real soon!
RMweb Gold Corbs Posted November 12, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2017 (edited) Sounds good, but should this not be in the workbench section rather than micro layouts and dioramas? Edited November 12, 2017 by Corbs
LNWR18901910
Sounds good, but should this not be in the workbench section rather than micro layouts and dioramas? Thanks. I tried to create a post there, but for some reason, it wouldn't let me. Can't think why... Still, I'll be showing you some more engines I've already done. See how well the general shape is close to the LYR Class 28 base when I used the J11 for James? Looks quite close.
RMweb Gold Corbs Posted November 12, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2017 Sorry, I meant the modified RTR section. LNWR18901910
My word is my bond... HEEEEERRRRRRRRRREEEEEE'S JAMES! The first model to show is James which I recently completed this year. Expect some photographs of some of the other engines and rolling stock, soon!
Sylvian Tennant
I'm very interested in this subject. I'm looking to building Henry eventually with the flying kipper and some other wagons. How was James built?

LNWR18901910
I'm very interested in this subject. I'm looking to building Henry eventually with the flying kipper and some other wagons. How was James built? The Bachman J11 was the ideal resemblance to the L&YR Class 28 Mogul Experiement (James' basis). Despite the variations on the wheels, I did a good job as most people tend to use the Bachmann Midland 3F as Hornby does with their own James model. It's super-detailed and loco-driven I intend to go for.
LNWR18901910
Sounds good, but should this not be in the workbench section rather than micro layouts and dioramas? It's been sorted out now so I'm glad to hear. Who wants to see Henry? Edited November 21, 2017 by LNWR18901910
LNWR18901910
And here is Henry, the first model I completed back in 2009/2010. Like Knuckles, I made it with an actual Hornby Black Five with the later forward-mounted top-feed. The tender was from a Hornby Gordon repainted and a number 3 stuck on with custom-made decals on either side. Originally, it had the Stanier tender which I repainted, but instead I went for the Fowler tender in keeping with the Clive Spong illustrations. The face come from an actual Hornby Henry and was stuck on. Should I do what I did with my later models and perhaps sculpt the faces myself? Please let me know what you folks think about this model. It was one of my earlier projects.

LNWR18901910
I think you should have a go at sculpting a face! Perhaps I shall. And thanks very much, I hope you like the model.

LNWR18901910
SURRPISE! Here's another model I did in late 2016 after my Molly model (expect pics of her soon): What do you guys think? I just thought I'd share her with you before I repaint her into a new livery. You'll soon find out.
LNWR18901910
I thought I'd give everyone an update! Firstly, let's start off with the models nearing completion: NWR No. 2 'Edward' - the livery has just been applied and now the lining will be added and the face will be made and painted. After that, the model will have glazing added into the windows and finishing items are to be added on. NWR No. 7 'Toby' - nothing much done to the model, except the face needs painting. GWR No. 5741 'Montague/Duck' - same with the Toby model but with slight improvement. Secondly, there are models that are given improvement: NWR No. 3 'Henry' - new green colour added, running board improved to resemble the front of the TV Series model (a hint of it), improvements made to the tender and lining and decals to be added on. NWR No. 5 'James' - eyebrows and eyes improved, new whistle added on and new decals will be added on. NWR No. 37 'Rosie' - repaint into her current livery in the TV Series. Finally, there are some more characters in development and planning stages: NWR No. 1 'Thomas' NWR No. 4 'Gordon' NWR No. 6 'Percy' NWR No. 9 'Donald' NWR No. 10 'Douglas' GWR No. 1436 'Oliver' NWR No. 12 'Emily' NWR No. 44 'Rebecca' NWR No. 1014 'Ryan' NWR D11 'Paxton' NWR D1 'Daisy' NWR D5702 'Boco' NWR D13 'Pippa' NWR D14 'Emma' I hope you all liked the list of characters that are in the pipeline! Keep smiling and stay Really Useful!
LNWR18901910
As it's Christmas, I thought I'd give you a Christmas treat - up until Christmas, I give you the 12 Days of Sodormas. Starting with Henry (HEN-RAY! OH, MAH GOWAD!), the model I just recently re-done: The model has new decals added onto it and some improvements have been made it it. Now, the running board is entirely squared like the John T. Kenney illustrations merged with a hint of Dalby sprinkled all over with Clive Spong. The tender has been improved with no more slight gap at the bottom and the green colour is different. As for the custom decals, I got them from one of the sprites used by TTTE fans on DA, so they were much better than what I interpreted. Anyway, I hope you like the model and how it looks right now. It may lack front steps and front coupling, but that's another story.
LNWR18901910
Day 2 of 12 Days of Sodormas and now... Heeeerrrrreeeeee'sssssss JAMES! As you can see, nothing much has been done to him, except for a new set of decals. They came from the sprite of him and I like them much better as with the same on the Henry model I previously covered. And here we go - another splendid model of Sodor's splendid red engine, no doubt! Expect Day 3 to come where we see another character along the way. Who is it? We'll just have to wait and see.
RMweb Premium Legend Posted December 13, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 13, 2017 Youve certainly caught James’s vibrant red paint and gold lining . Lovely . Is the NWR a new thing from the tv programmes . In the illustrations in original books the locos always had their numbers on tenders.

Besides, I saw what the fans of TTTE were doing so I incorporated several elements into one.
