Has anyone converted the Y1 to EM? I have not had a chance to try to remove the wheels yet.

Thanks for replying David. How did you remove the brake gear to get to the gearing cover and how is it removed? Did you replace the wheelsets complete?

I used Ultrascale wheels. PM me if you want one dcc fitted too.

It is necessary to break the brake gear off the chassis to remove the keeper plate.

I used Ultrascale wheels and then super glued the brake gear back on again.

It works just fine and I have a second one to do.

Sometimes it is possible to just pull the brake gear out but you should be prepared for breakage. I’ve done 2 to P4 with Ultrascales.
