PUASHP
I am building a platform for my new layout, Hembourne, from card as I have done with the buildings on the layout and the cattle dock. I now have to add the top layer and was looking for some advice how to model the platform edge. Attached are photos of the platform to date and the look I am after. For the cattle dock I scribed the top layer of card and it looks ok but not a 100% match for what I am after for the platform. Any help would be most appreciated. Chubber
Have a look at some old VHS cassettes if you can find them...The 'grippy' bits on the upper and lower surfaces are good representative surface. Doug
Miss Prism
Someone does, or did, an etch for diamond-pattern platform edging bricks. (Can't remember who now.) Dave Stone's two-part blog in 7mm is excellent: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1131/entry-17632-diamond-embossed-edging-stones-platform-paraphernalia/

PUASHP
Thought I'd give it a go with just a scribed edge first, on the basis it's a country station, not particularly well cared for and the edging was made with whatever brick or stone that was available at the time. One edge done so far as a trial.
PUASHP
The final version, scribed edging and weathered. From a distance looks ok.
