From the Warley thread:

I hope you come along to our exhibition the first weekend in February

Full details of Stafford Railway Circles 2017 Exhibition can be found at www.staffordrailwaycircle.ork.uk including photographs of the layouts attending together with a free preserved bus service from the railway station on both days for those of you who don’t want to take advantage of the 2000 free car parking spaces.

Happy Modelling

The Stafford Show probably has the best website I've seen in my limited experience, and even apologizes for not having photographs of a layout under construction. However, as I heard one person comment it should be called the Stafford British Show, as there doesn't seem to be much in the way of non-UK layouts. You only have to look at the Warley thread to see the more popular ones were Continental, so why don't they feature in a show of this size? Or have I missed them completely?

We have certainly had Contiental layouts in the past.

Many of the Continental layouts that appear at Warley are non Uk based, very often large layouts which on a cost basis are not affordable.

But we will keep looking.

The Barrow-in-Furness lads have a large, continuous run HO layout 'Swiss Pass' - it took over from 'Oberfriedhof'. It was at their exhibition this year and I was impressed.

Oh and it's got a metre gauge upper section too.

Just a thought Tel.

cheers

I’ll pass on the information to Colin Exhibition Manager presently booking layouts for 2020

Colin booked my latest for 2020 at the weekend when he visited the Prestatyn show. So we will now be there 2019 & 2020.

Eltel, I didn't realise it was so difficult to get suitable layouts. I assumed from subsequent posts that you ask them, but does it ever work the other way round where a layout will ask to go to a show? I was just wondering.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your last email.

Clubs and layout owners do contract us either by email, phone or chat to us at exhibitions with details of layouts they wish to offer for a invite to a future Stafford Railway Exhibition.

Wherever possible we wish to see the layout operating at a exhibition, as the club policy is only to book layouts we have actually seen working.

Colin Hill (exhibition manager) and I visit around 40 exhibitions throughout the UK each year scouting for suitable layouts for a future invites to Stafford

Hope that helps

Got the honour of being invited to Stafford show this year with the plastic abuse roadshow ( demo of Diesel electric modelling in ScotRail circa 1988 ), so really looking forward to this one.

Myself and Dave, one of the other lads from Glasgow Queen St (EM) will be present and showing some of the stock we've already abused ( detailed, resprayed and done up ), plus Dave is also hoping to have CAD drawings available for viewing, that he has drawn himself, for the disused Signal Gantry that spanned the cutting at GQS for years, before the modern upgrade - It'll be an impressive little structure this as it's about 250mm long. There will also be a laptop with progress photos of the layout from inception to where we are at present.

If you're attending, say hello - we don't bite, even though Dave permanently looks as though he's about to........

cheers

Andy
