DB Models

Called in to DB Models in Bourne after seeing an ad for their new shop, which opened last month. Always good to hear of a new shop opening and such a rarity nowadays, being within half an hour of me is a real bonus.

 

The unit is on an industrial estate with ample parking and is easy of find from the major routes. Inside is a pleasant, light unit with friendly and knowledgable staff. Its extremely well stocked in all respects, scenics, tools, RTR, die-casts etc, all the usual suspects and some very keen pricing on the RTR, their aim is to get as close as possible to the box shifters and they seem to be making a pretty good effort.

 

They've been around on the internet for some years, I've bought from them although only now realise the connection, they're pretty good for old stock items which are scarce elsewhere, although some of the prices reflect the scarcity on those!

 

One thing which they have which doesn't seem common in model shops, although it is in other retail sectors, is a video screen running demo videos of some of the items they sell, it was Noch when I was in but I guess they might have all manner of stuff they can run. It is a great way to offer advice and promote the products to novices.

 

I'd thoroughly recommend anyone in the area to take a look, their website is currently an eBay store but will have a stand alone web presence in the new year to complement their other activities. I've no connection with them, only as a satisfied customer.
