RMweb Premium Dava Posted December 11, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 11, 2017 Lovely vintage electric traction, also I've never seen photos of the Waldenburger NG loco as preserved before, once modelled by Liliput. Dava
brack
If only they could unrebuild the ge4/4 I. Great museum - I believe you get a discount with your Swiss pass (it used to be free with the pass).

TT-Pete
Going there in Spring. Looking forward to it. Thanks for posting up the photos - hope the model railway is still running ... No probs, hope you enjoy the visit. Unfortunately not for the moment, a re-modelling project in scale 1:1 is taking priority...
Salmotrutta
Driving past here was the only time in my life I got a speeding ticket - 2 kph over the limit and a fine of 20 SFR. But the visit to the museum was worth it!

The ge4/4i wasn't there in April...

The ge4/4i wasn't there in April... I get the impression they move some of the exhibits around quite a bit as a few items are in operating condition. Marly51
Just found this topic, Pete. What a wonderful museum! I spent a fortnight in Switzerland on a school trip in 1963 - stayed in a Brienz chalet hostel and travelled everywhere by train! There was an amazing layout at the top of a funicular railway in Interlaken, I seem to remember? The Jungfrau train journey was also memorable. Marlyn Edited July 9, 2019 by Marly51 Just been checking History of Railways of Switzerland. I initially had wrong year fir my visit, because it was the year of the typhoid outbreak in 1963. Horsetan
The Ae 8/14 is near-impossible to photograph properly due to its vast length: ....but the rest of Luzern is a nice place to be in too:
